Baby Jade Brown is an originals band with highly live-gig experienced individuals. We play our own stuff and always add some groovy covers to it that you’ve definitely heard before.

                                   Hester Gorter | lead vocals

Studied at the Conservatorium in Arnhem and currently works as a singing teacher, specialized in Soul, Funk and Jazz. She worked together with Producer Jayms within the band 'Jaymz' and plays with Jazz duo Starke & Gorter as well. Her compositions are inspired by artists like Erykah Badu, Macy Gray and Rachelle Ferrell who knows how to merge Jazz with Soul and R&B.

                         Jan Jonker | guitar

Played in several Funk, Soul, Jazz and Salsa bands in the past decades such as 'Funk the Deepfreeze' and 'The Image' partly together with composer Nico Huijbregts and drummer Peter Hengst. Jan's fnky rhythms and 'fusioneske' solos often recall tunes of Mike Stern.

                               Lucien Huisstede | bass guitar, backing vocals

Played together with Hester in the band 'Jaymz' and is currently also working togetether with British Singer Songwriter Tris Spencer whithin the band The Jostle. Heavilly influenced by Jaco Pastorius and with a passion for a broad variety of musical styles he knows how to realize powerful to-the-point functionality with a strong sence of harmony and melody.

                                  Sjoerd Selen | keyboards, backing vocals        

With a broad musical experience he gives the band the needed 'colour' resulting in the BJB-sound as it was sought for a long time. He often plays the legendary Rhodes and Hammond sounds with his very own touch. Currently playing with Disco, Soul & Funk cover band The B Machine from Nijmegen as well and he is even serving the dance floor as a DJ so now and then.

                             Perry Elbers | drums

No-nonsense and subtle funky grooves. Played in several funk bands, with guitarist Jan in 'Baby Brown Company'.

He started within Funk/Rock, but along the way he developed his diversity towards other musical styles. Also plays in Pop band Storm from Nijmegen.
